After seeing their friends at Keller Williams dominate the Austin Business Journal awards, Sonny and Erin Bara’s interest was piqued. The pair had closed an impressive $21.2 million and 58 units in 2018 at Realty Austin – a prominent brokerage in Austin, Texas – but were hitting a ceiling.
“We were successful at surviving, but wanted to thrive,” shares Sonny.
The Bara’s Move to Keller Williams
Passionate to break into a new level of success, the Bara’s knew that their environment would have to change to match their big dreams and aspirations. That’s when they connected with Melanie Kennemann, team leader at Keller Williams Austin Southwest. The Baras were quickly introduced to the company’s agent-first philosophy, a world of new efficiencies and an impressive lineup of top agents and teams. After sitting in a Lab – where they witnessed agents and technologists working together to build disruptive technology- the Bara’s knew they had found their new professional home at Keller Williams.
Why Keller Williams?
“Keller Williams is among the world’s most innovative companies,” says Erin. “Being here will give us the time, technology and resources needed to build high-quality relationships with our valued clients.”

The Bara’s particularly look forward to placing technology in their clients’ hands that was uniquely designed to meet their needs.
“Getting a consumer app that was created and developed for real estate agents and their clients- now that gets me excited,” shares Sonny.
For the Bara’s, real estate is far from transactional, it’s personal. So, having access to technology and support that enables them to build deeper relationships with their clients is paramount- especially in a period of rapid change.
“Our industry is changing,” says Erin. “It feels great to be backed by a company that is committed to our success. It’s clear that Keller Williams is where the Bara Team and our clients need to be to have the best real estate experience possible.”
