As a lifelong resident of South Puget Sound, Sandy Bicheray’s passion for people and relationships made her a natural fit for real estate. She got into the business 20 years ago and has been with the same locally owned and operated company in Puyallup, Washington, for most of that time. Her clients love her and rely on her through each of their moves and life transitions. She was one of the firm’s top Realtors and loved her fellow agents and brokers. “It was a hard decision to leave,” she reflects. “I’ve been there for 19 ½ years. My colleagues are like family to me.”
But not long ago, after years and years of working 12-hour days, seven days a week, she decided to form a team.
She offers, “I was successful, but I knew I was working too hard.” Her single-office brokerage didn’t have the knowledge, options, or the education to help her make that happen, so she trained herself how to do it. She hired an assistant and a first buyer’s agent, and admits that she didn’t know what to do with them. “We knew we were going to fumble our way through until we figured it out.” And they did, but the path could have been easier.
In 2019, her 20th year in business, she was invited to Family Reunion.
“It was a true eye-opener for what was available that I wasn’t getting. I realized that I didn’t have to figure it all out by myself. I was super excited that there were coaches and classes and so many tools to help me train my team and hire new buyer’s agents. To get the kind of leverage I needed, I knew I needed to take what I was doing a big step further,” Bicheray says.
That’s when she made the move to Keller Williams Realty Puyallup in April 2019.There are 300 agents in the market center that have circled around Bicheray.
“I’m so energized by the willingness of others to share. There are so many productive teams here and they are eager to help us be successful.”
“And the technology offerings are staggering. Every day we learn more about what’s available to us.”
She’s realizing the power of leverage to grow a bigger and better team and increase production. And the timing couldn’t be better. Bicheray’s husband is retiring this year and she wants to enjoy traveling with him. First up: a 21-day adventure through Italy and a Mediterranean cruise this fall.
